Academic Collaboration for (Building)
Capacity in Environmental Studies (ACCES)
The consortium is formed by the staff members of two higher education institutions: the Faculty of Civil Engineering at GTU and the Institute of Hydraulics and Rural Water Management (IHLW) at BOKU, led by the GTU. All consortium members are experienced in teaching and research, water and environmental engineering. Existing knowledge and professional expertise will be explored and used for successful project implementation.
The GTU is the main and the largest university in Georgia. Hence, it plays a key role in teaching and research in the field of environmental and water management in the country. In 2001 GTU became a full member of the European University Association – EUA. In 2005 GTU joined Bologna process and introduced 60 ECTS credits. At the same time due to the reorganizations conducted at GTU, 8 Faculties were set up. In 2007 GTU was awarded Institutional accreditation by the National Center for Educational
BOKU WIEN is the major higher education institution in Austria with strong focus on renewable resources, living space and quality of life. The IHLW at BOKU has wide expertise in the field of environmental engineering and curricula development. The staff is engaged in teaching, research and dissemination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills and is well experienced in providing trainings.

Dipl.-Eng. Dr. Univ. Associated Professor at the GTU. Senior Scientist at the Georgian Water Management Institute (WMI GTU). He is the member of the National Team of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia.

Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Univ. Professor, he was head of institute of IHLW, since 1984 member of the permanent staff of the university. He has a wide professional research and teaching experience in Austria and abroad.
